Expanding Educational Opportunity: Betsy DeVos Gives and Serves

The 21st century poses many challenges to structures once thought to be tried and true. In a world where the velocity of change continues to pick up speed, old structures, bureaucracies and institutions will fail unless they adapt to an ever-increasing tempo. Nowhere is this truer than in the education of the next generation. As industries evolve, streamline and—in some cases—die, today’s students face challenges from peers at home and competitors abroad. Guarantees of future security are no longer ironclad so thorough preparation of children and youth becomes much more urgent. Betsy DeVos was made for such a time as this.

Confirmed as U.S. Secretary of Education in February, 2017, Betsy DeVos brings a passion to her post born of long experience as a champion for children and their parents. She is the daughter of a successful entrepreneur and a public school teacher, and she reflects both of those callings in her own life’s work. Having served as chairman of the Windquest Group, an investment management company, she understands the meaning of stewardship and the importance of prudent decision-making. Yet it is her time with the Grand Rapids, Michigan public school system that may be her primary motivator. Serving as a on-site counselor for 15 years, Ms. DeVos saw firsthand the educational disparities imposed by a one-size-fits-all system that fails its at-risk students. Helping those struggling young people has occupied her time long before she assumed her current post. Through the family foundation she led with her husband, Dick, DeVos was instrumental in founding a high school with an emphasis on aviation; spearheading a national campaign for educational choice; inaugurating a competitive festival for young artists from all over the world; and boosting research in and treatment of pediatric cancers.

This philanthropy is not the result of random selection. In many communities, needy families are deprived the excellence, challenge, encouragement and safety found in other schools, both public and private. Betsy DeVos understands how vouchers for private schooling enhance not only a student’s future prospects but also competition among institutions and districts. Through charitable giving and political activism, Betsy DeVos has aided the cause of educational reform in Florida, Louisiana, Indiana and her home state of Michigan. At the core of all of this grassroots and legislative activity is the firm conviction that the present information age will leave 20th-century educational models behind. Technology gives greater impetus to alternatives like vouchers, charter schools and homeschooling. Now a cabinet officer with the power to make even more of a difference, she is poised to champion these promising options at a national level—and on a world stage. In my opinion, her political ascendancy is timed perfectly. Visit Betsy’s profile on twitter.com.

Kabbalah Centre

Throughout the years, many Hollywood stars have been attracted to Kabbalah studies. Some of the stars who were interested in Kabbalah who are still living include Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Madonna, Sandra Bernhard. Some of the late stars that showed interest in Kabbalah include Sammy Davis, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor and learn more about Kabbalah.

These stars have different reasons for why felt such an allure to Kabbalah. Some celebrities, such as Sara Bernhard and Paris Hilton, were attracted to Kabbalah because they felt that it soothed their busy, chaotic lives and lessened the negative feelings of the problems in the their lives. Right after Paris Hilton broke up with Nick Carter, she started to attend meetings at the Kabbalah Centre, which she now goes to regularly, to cope with the emotional pain. Sammy Davis started to get involved in Kabbalah studies because he looked up to Judaism as a resilient, 5 thousand year old system that has grown spiritually strong. Also, he identified with it in a way because his own people, people of African descent, had their own struggles. He felt that the morals of Kabbalah clicked in with his beliefs. Just like Madonna and Elizabeth Taylor, he believed that Kabbalah offered a very virtuous, fulfilling spiritual path. Britney Spears partook in Kabbalah studies, though she is generally less serious about it, and it’s more of a scholarly topic of interest that she studies but eventually puts on the back burner.

Orthodox Jewish rabbis are opposed to the Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles, saying that it has nothing to do with them and that it is not really legit. The Kabbalah Centre breaks many traditions by doing things such as teaching non-Jews, and teaching people before the traditional age of 40.

The Kabbalah Centre was founded in 1922 by a person named Rav Yehuda Ashlag. It operates internationally, and it is the largest organization that educates people about Kabbalah. There are 50 Kabbalah Centre locations throughout the world and more information click here.

Finding Inner Peace with Kabbalah

The journey of finding peace with Kabbalah is unique. Many people think that finding peace of mind is the ultimate solution to their unsettled soul. What they are actually acknowledging is that life is hard to an extent where it has become impossible to fix. Hence, they believe that the only way to find relief is through finding peace of mind. This is not how you find peace in Kabbalah. The only thing you need in Kabbalah is finding your inner soul and your purpose in life instead of hoping for peace. To attain this and spark a long-lasting peace in your life, you need to do some spiritual work on yourself first.

With a spiritual life, you can discover the deepest parts of your life. There is also a possibility that you will reveal the brighter light within you. The light will then shine and light up the darkest parts of your life. The by-product of this will be a long-lasting peace of mind. You will be in a position to take control of your life and get invaluable benefits out of it.

If you want to be part of thousands of people who are currently benefiting from the peace associated with Kabbalah, join Kabbalah Center. The center is located in Los Angeles, California. It has been a leading platform for people from different cultures to learn the art of Kabbalah. Many of them have benefited from the programs available at the center. Kabbalah Center have offices and workers all over the world. It is currently training about 5,000 students. The programs are available locally and online. Students can also download PDFs and video tutorials and more information click here.

The idea behind Kabbalah Center was developed by Philip Berg and his wife Karen Berg in 1984. People who practiced Kabbalah believed that its teachings were widely misunderstood and misinterpreted that it could only be revealed to a few students who were devoted to the course in a fully functional setup. The center now has weekly studies at its centers all over the world. Students are encouraged to volunteer for the center’s philanthropic events. You too can become part of the generation of great young adults who want to get the most out of their lives and Kabbalah’s lacrosse camp.

Betsy DeVos Heads A Philanthropic Drive By A Family Known For Its Charitable Giving

Forbes Magazine has spent much of the last few decades looking to discover more about the philanthropic work of members of the DeVos family, the Michigan based direct sales specialists who have developed a reputation as donors to causes across the U.S. Betsy DeVos has been responsible for many of the charitable donations I have heard of being provided by the family, particularly through the Dick and Betsy DeVos Foundation she shares with her husband; when Forbes were finally given access to the records of the Dick and Betsy DeVos Foundation the level of their giving was shocking for me to comprehend as Forbes estimated the couple had provided around $136 million in donations to various good causes over the life of the Foundation they share.

When I think of Betsy DeVos and her philanthropic activities I always think of her education reform work that usually gains the most attention, but Betsy DeVos has a range of interests that are often less well reported that help people in many different areas of society. Children and the future of the U.S. often form a major part of the work of Betsy DeVos’s range of philanthropic giving, particularly when I saw she had spent a large amount of time helping to fund the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Pediatric Oncology Program. Betsy has also impressed me with the work she has completed in developing the arts in Michigan and across the U.S. through her backing of the Kennedy Center for the Arts and the ArtPrize; both Betsy and Dick DeVos have made a major commitment to providing a better cultural and social experience for the people of Michigan and ensured a portion of the funding they provided for the Kennedy Center is spent in the state.

Betsy DeVos cannot be discussed without a mention of the educational reform work she has been completing in recent years, including her work to reform the education system in her home state of Michigan. I was impressed with the answers Betsy DeVos gave to a number of questions about her work as a leading reformer and described how her involvement in the movement grew over time after she began taking an interest in school choice options when her own children were studying; I believe Betsy DeVos has always looked to create a positive atmosphere in terms of school choice and voucher programs that highlight the benefits for people from all areas of society. The main inspiration for her work as the Chair of the Alliance for School Choice was the fact she came into contact with families who were battling to provide a positive school experience for their children in the face of underfunded school systems.

Keith Mann Is Looking On The Bright Side

Keith Mann is the type of person that looks for a silver lining in just about everything in life. Keith Mann knows there is something that can be done in just about anything in any situation. If someone sets their mind to it and really devotes their time and resources to it, they can truly accomplish whatever they set their mind to, at the end of the day. When it comes to police lately, it has been tough for them lately and quite frankly, it is unfair. There are protests, riots, and it is quite ugly at the moment. However, if there was a world without cops, it would be a scary place to live in, that is for sure.

Cops are here for a reason and they are here to help people and be there for them in just about any situation they need them to be in at the current moment. If someone is in danger, they are quick to respond and they are quick to do something about it. They don’t just sit on their hands. They also think everything through very, very carefully. In order to be a cop, it requires a certain type of person. Not just anyone off the street can do it. It takes training, devotion, and it is a brotherhood.

Keith Mann of Dynamic Search Partners understands this, as his uncle is a detective in Staten Island. When someone has a personal touch with something, they know the value of it and they know the importance of it. They see what their relative has done and what they have gone through. That is why Keith Mann took the time to treat the NYPD on the 54th Street precinct to make them feel good and to let them know that people truly do care about them and are looking out for them.

They are not underappreciated and they are not undervalued. Keith Mann knows it is important to give back to those that keep him, his family, and the world safe. They have a job that requires a lot of sacrifice and a lot of time away from their family members.
