The Ubuntu Fund is one of the organizations that has played an instrumental role in helping the needy children in the society. Over the years, they have helped over 400,000 needy children. Under the leadership of Jacob Lief, who is a co-founder of the Fund, the entity has been able to reach out to many well-wishers. These individuals have continued to fund the institution’s operations. However, there has been an increase in the number of disadvantaged children in the society.
In the recent past, the Fund organized a funds drive with the objective of raising over $972,960. The management of the Ubuntu Fund said that they were able to surpass their set target. The event, which was held in London, attracted many philanthropists and entrepreneurs. This money shall be used in enhancing the Fund’s campus, which is based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Moreover, the funds shall be used in expanding the capacity of its pediatric clinic, which is within the school compound. This way, the institution will be able to accept more needy children from the society.
Sinesipho Rabidyani was one of the attendees. When she took to the podium, she stole the show owing to her story and her stylish dress. She narrated how as a young girl she hated going home. This is because her father had a drinking problem that made it difficult for the family to endure his mistreatment. Sinesipho focused on her education. Her good grades and inspiring story made the management of the Ubuntu Fund to give her a scholarship. In addition, she was enrolled into a mentorship program and given psychosocial support. Today, the young girl is a law student at the university.
