An Interesting Interview With Sujit Choudhry

Sujit Choudhry is a legal icon. In fact, he represents law. He is a Professor of Law and he has lectured in several prestigious institutions. Sujit Choudhry obtained a B.Sc in McGill University in 1992. He then went further to get a Bachelor of Art in Law from University of Oxford. He didn’t stop there, he later obtained Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 1996 from University of Toronto. Finally, he crowned it all with a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Harvard Law School in 1998.

Sujit Choudhry has held several positions and he is currently the Director of Center for Constitutional Transitions, a position he has held since 2012. Sujit Choudhry was recently interviewed by Lynn Fosse, the Senior Editor of CEOCFO Magazine and he talked about a lot of things. What inspired him was the fact that constitutions are never complete. He realized this while he was travelling around, writing constitutions for nations. He knew constitutions needed to be updated regularly. Some constitutions are obsolete and there are situations which some constitutions didn’t cover.

Having law degrees in three different countries helped to build Sujit Choudhry’s legal career as he has seen things from three different perspectives. His work experience added to his multinational education background. Sujit Choudhry on Work and Comparative Law

Sujit Choudhry is the founding director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. He gave an interview that appeared in the CEOCFO Magazine. Sujit started off by talking about the center and the role that it plays. He said that it mobilizes knowledge by bringing international experts together to work on policies. The center has partnerships with think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and universities. Choudhry explained that the reason for starting the center arose from the need to develop knowledge to inform constitution building. He had observed this over the course of his years as a constitutional advisor.
